Meet The Board

I became associated with Happy Endings in 1995 when I was looking for a second
cat. Originally I started as a foster mother rehabbing feral kittens; I really
enjoyed turning little hissing, spitting, terrified kittens into purry little
love bugs! In 1997 I was appointed to the Board as Vice President and have
served on the Board since then.
Angela Slawny
- Vice President/Medical Coordinator

I came to Happy Endings in 2002 as an Open House volunteer. I have always enjoyed meeting the potential adopts and find it very rewarding to match a cat with the right home. Currently, I am the Vice President and am in charge of coordinating all of the veterinary care for the cats. With so many furballs to care for, sometimes the assistance of our wonderful volunteers is necessary to ensure the cats receive the best possible care. In addition, I still volunteer during Open House hours, help out at shows and lead the Sunday cleaning crew. I enjoy working with people and the cats.
In my free time, I enjoy relaxing at home with my own cats.
Linda Green -
Treasurer

Born and raised in Milwaukee, I started volunteering at Happy Endings in 2000. After rescuing a mother cat and her eight kittens, I came to Happy Endings seeking advice on rehoming them. In the summer of 2004, the President of the Board approached me about filling the Treasurer’s position which had been recently vacated; I have been a member of the Board ever since.
Early in my career I was employed for many years as a legal secretary. However, for the past 20 years I have had the pleasure of being the office manager/bookkeeper at Glacier Refrigeration, Inc. Having graduated from MATC’s Computerized Accounting Assistant program, I enjoy doing small business bookkeeping as well as tax preparation for individuals and the self-employed.
My greatest achievements are my two grown daughters, Alissa & Rikki. In addition to my daughters, I have a wonderful husband, Rich, and an orange tabby named Spud who was adopted from Happy Endings. Favorite pastimes include reading, doing “crafty” projects and spending quality time with family. I am honored to be a part of this organization. My passion for animals is shared by all the wonderful people who also volunteer and are dedicated to animal welfare. I am eager to contribute to the long and short term goals of the shelter and look forward to lots of positive changes happening that will be a tremendous help to the homeless cats and kittens in our area.

I was first introduced to Happy Endings in the fall of 1997
when my sister adopted Phoebe, a beautiful Calico. At the time there was a great
need for foster homes. The next thing I knew, I was fostering expectant mothers
and many kittens. Eventually I started to volunteer on Saturdays for Open House.
In 2000, I joined the Board and given my copious note taking skills, became the
Board Secretary. In addition, I also respond to the shelter Hotline.
Many cats and volunteers have come and gone (and some have returned and gone again!), but the shelter has managed to stay and uphold its mission. I'm proud to be involved in an organization that seeks to maintain such a high standard of excellence in caring for the many homeless, abused and neglected cats.

In my free time, I love movies, music, going to the park and, of course, spending time with my four furbabies Abigail, Steve, Eydie and Snowflake.
